Croatian cuisine is quite specific and varied. In the northern part, the food is very simillar to polish cuisine. On the coast in view of hot weather people eat very light food, a lot of fish and seafood. The most popular meat, especially on the coast, is lamb. In the northern parts they very often eat piglets.

What is interesting, you won’t find restaurants like McDonald’s anywhere in Croatia, even in bigger cities. Croatian people are proud of their own specialities and even hamburgers serve in their own way, although, some people say that nothing of croatian cuisine is really croatian. It’s true the food might have been taken from turkish people, however, it doesn’t seem to matter at all when it comes to try those tasty dishes.
