If you can, try to avoid traveling on one of notorious weekends during the summer. Traffic jams are the worst on weekend around July 15th, August 1st and August 15th. In fact, new motorways have enabled Croatians to reach the sea in 3-4 hours so many locals are taking short weekend breaks on Friday afternoon returning on Sunday evening which is a guarantee for blocked motorways.

So better try planning your trip so that you don’t get stuck in traffic jams for hours. Going a day earlier or postponing your trip for next Monday or Tuesday will mean a less stressful travel.
