The culture of Dubrovnik

The festival is very popular not only around Europe but also around the world. It offers very interesting programme rich of classical music, jezz music, dram,a  theatre, opera, choirs, folk performances and folk concerts on more than 70 open - air venues over 47 days in summer.

Another very important Dubrovnik festival is organizes on the 3rd of February and  is named as the Sveti Vlaho Day. The festival celebrates the day of St. Blaise – the patron saint of Dubrovnik. This festival lasts for a week and includes religious ceremonies and processions, various concerts, sports events, parades and parties through the day and night.
Dubrovnik is also well known for its Carnival. It is organized in February and it includes colourful parades to the sound of trumpets and drums and competitions taken in the centre of the old town.
