Art and Architecture is a very important part of Dubrovnik heritage. The variety of galleries and museums around Old Town offers numerous exhibitions. The art can be admired for example in The Maritime Museum, Franciscan Monastery Museum nad Dominican Monastery Museum. Museums offer works of old Dubrovnik artists and artisans, various old Dubrovnik paintings and sculptures as well as numerous paintings and works of art.
Dubrovnik has also an old and beautiful baroque Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin. The cathedral was built after the earthquake in 1667 and it offers a large number of paintings including one by Titian.
Another beautiful monument that can be seen in Dubrovnik is Church of St. Blaise. It is an 18th – century baroque church on Luza Square. The church is dedicated to the patron saint and protector of Dubrovnik. It is built on the plan of a Greek cross and topped with a grand dome. It offers numerous art treasures saved from the earlier church, including a gold-plated silver statue of st. Blaise.
Moreover Dubrovnik has its own theatre Kazaliste Marina Drzica nad Dubrovnik Simphony Orchestra that gives concerts at Knezev Dvor – The Rector’s Palace.
